What Hashtags To Use?

This is part 3 of 4 posts where I show you how to mention someone, tag someone and how to use relevant hashtags on Instagram, then I'll show you how using these simple Instagram techniques got David Beckham to like my Instagram post by total accident.

Using relevant hashtags gives your Instagram post a longer life span than if you were not to use one, if you notice when you start to type a hashtag a dropdown list will generate telling you various versions of what you have typed but also how popular the hashtags are.  Now this is crucial to how well your Instagram post does, if it's to popular then your post will get lost in the thousands of other post and equally to low then no one is going to be searching for that particular hashtag.

Looking for simply one worded hashtags will usually prove to be to popular for.

Example:  #London is showing over 50 million posts using this hashtag so I would not to use this, but the hashtag #Lifeinlondon is showing just over 19,000 post this is one I would use.

There is not an exact science but I recommend looking for hashtags that are being used with a ratio of between 15,000 - 80,000 times this will help your post to get more air time if you know what I mean.  If you were to document which post performed better than others then you would begin to see a trend of what ratio is working better for you. ;)

Also using websites like  Hashtagify.me   or  Ritetag.com can help you to identify hashtags that are used in conjunction with the hashtag you are searching around.
