A LION on LinkedIn stands for; Linked In Open Networker which means these people will connect with anyone on LinkedIn whilst mostly agreeing to never IDK them, IDK stands for 'I Dont Know' when responding to a LinkedIn invitation. I myself am a LION as I know that opportunities happen through people, so the more people you know the more opportunities come your way. Simple mathematics!
